Organic Baby Clothing WILMINGTON

Back before I had my baby, I never really imagined I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mum, chatting to other mothers about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to discuss the latest baby outfits we have picked up.
I generally go out with 4 other mothers, once a month, to hear about the latest new. We generally meet at Grouper Nancys (which is in WILMINGTON, NC) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was more eye opening seeing we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby girl organic meals from the start but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the US and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed habitats and particularly water supplies. Organic cotton is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.
Benefits of Organic Clothing
Buying organic clothing means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, less diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find stores completely devoted to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to adolescents. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I am not saying that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
