Organic Baby Clothing WILMERDING

Long before I had my baby, I had not thought I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mum, being able to talk to other women about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to talk about the most recent baby fashions we have bought.
I more often than not meet with 2 other women, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest gossip. We generally meet at Smittys Market & Deli (which is in WILMERDING, PA) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was more interesting because we chatted about baby clothes. I have been providing my baby girl organic produce from the beginning but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the US and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and especially water ways. Organic cotton is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.
Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Purchasing organic clothing means you are getting produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or reduced use of insecticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, less health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Many producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find stores solely committed to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to older children. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I would not go as far to say that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am without a doubt going try to whenever I can.
