Organic Baby Clothing WEST JEFFERSON

Before I had my first child, I had not imagined I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am a mum, being able to talk to other women about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the newest baby clothes we have bought.

I usually go out with 2 other mothers, once a week, to hear about the latest happenings. We generally meet at Genos Italian & American Restaurant (which is in WEST JEFFERSON, NC) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was really interesting seeing we discussed baby clothes. I have been providing my baby girl organic food from the beginning but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the world and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has destroyed the environment and in particular water supplies. Organic cotton is made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic produce means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, less health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Many makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find stores entirely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to older children. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
