Organic Baby Clothing WELLSVILLE

Before I had my baby, I never thought I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a new mother, chatting to other mothers about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to discuss the latest baby clothes we have purchased.

I more often than not go out with 4 other women, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest new. We usually meet at Better Days (which is in WELLSVILLE, NY) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was really eye opening as we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby girl organic produce from the start but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the US and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed ecosystems and particularly water supplies. Organic produce is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic clothes means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, reduced diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.

Quite a few makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find stores entirely devoted to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to older children. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever it is available.
