Organic Baby Clothing WARM SPRINGS

Long before I had my children, I never really thought I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a mum, chatting to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the newest baby clothes we have bought.

I more often than not meet with 2 other parents, once a month, to hear about the latest new. We often meet at Johns Steakhouse (which is in WARM SPRINGS, VA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last time was particularly interesting as we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic food from the beginning but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in America and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farmers. The run off from these farms has ruined habitats and particularly water bodies. Organic products are made without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothes means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and rivers, reduced cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

A number of producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find retailers solely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to adolescents. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
