Organic Baby Clothing WANTAGH

Before I had my children, I never really thought I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mum, chatting to other women about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to talk about the latest baby fashions we have bought.
I more often than not get together with 4 other women, once a fortnight, to find out the latest new. We usually meet at Friendly Ice Cream Corporation - Bellmore (which is in WANTAGH, NY) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was more eye opening because we talked about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby girl organic produce from the start but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the US and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed ecosystems and in particular water supplies. Organic cotton is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.
Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Buying organic products means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or less use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, reduced diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find designers solely committed to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to adolescents. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I am not saying that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever it is available.
