Organic Baby Clothing SUNAPEE

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 14-05-2008

Long before I had my first child, I never really thought I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a new mother, talking to other mothers about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to talk about the newest baby fashions we have bought.

I usually go out with 4 other parents, once a week, to find out the latest gossip. We usually meet at Kathy's Place (which is in SUNAPEE, NH) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was particularly eye opening as we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been giving my baby boy organic produce from day one but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular products in the world and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed ecosystems and especially water supplies. Organic produce is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Buying organic produce means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, reduced diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few wholesalers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find stores solely devoted to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to teenagers. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.

  1. Would it be possible for me to sit in on one of your meetings some time? This looks as though it would make a fascinating story and even provide possible pictures for INTERTOWN RECORD.
