Before I had my first child, I never believed I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mother, chatting to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to discuss the latest baby clothes we have bought.
I generally get together with 4 other parents, once a fortnight, to find out the latest happenings. We generally meet at Mario & Luigis Restaurant (which is in STATE COLLEGE, PA) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was more eye opening because we talked about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic produce from the start but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular crops in America and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has damaged habitats and especially water bodies. Organic products are grown without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Getting organic products means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, reduced health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Several producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find wholesalers completely devoted to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to adolescents. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I would not go as far to say that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
