Organic Baby Clothing SOUTH BOSTON
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 13-09-2009
Before I had my baby, I never really thought I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mum, chatting to other women about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to talk about the most recent baby fashions we have purchased.
I more often than not go out with 2 other parents, once a fortnight, to find out the latest new. We often meet at Hardee's Drive-In (which is in SOUTH BOSTON, VA) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was particularly exciting because we discussed baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic produce from day one but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the US and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed the environment and in particular water bodies. Organic produce is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.
You can buy organic baby clothing online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some of the cutest organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing
Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find designers entirely committed to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to adolescents. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I do not think that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever I can.
