Organic Baby Clothing SARATOGA SPRINGS
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 21-05-2010
Before I had my baby, I never thought I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am a mum, chatting to other mothers about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to talk about the most recent baby clothes we have picked up.
I more often than not meet with 4 other parents, once a month, to hear about the latest happenings. We usually meet at 43 Phila Bistro (which is in SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was more interesting seeing we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic food from the start but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the world and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farmers. The run off from these farms has damaged ecosystems and especially water bodies. Organic cotton is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.
You can buy soft organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Purchasing organic products means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, reduced health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Many producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find retailers completely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to older children. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I would not go as far to say that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
