Long before I had my first child, I had not thought I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am a new mother, being able to talk to other mothers about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We discuss how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to talk about the most recent baby fashions we have picked up.

I generally go out with 3 other mothers, once a week, to hear about the latest happenings. We generally meet at C & G Pizza & Restaurant (which is in SANBORNVILLE, NH) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was really eye opening seeing we discussed baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic produce from day one but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the US and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm employees. Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic products means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, fewer health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find shops completely committed to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to older children. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I do not think that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
