Organic Baby Clothing RUTHERFORD

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 02-09-2010

Back before I had my baby, I never believed I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mum, chatting to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to discuss the most recent baby outfits we have bought.

I more often than not meet with 2 other mothers, once a month, to catch up on the latest gossip. We usually meet at Sunrise Deli (which is in RUTHERFORD, NJ) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was really eye opening seeing we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby girl organic food from day one but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in America and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farmers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged ecosystems and especially water supplies. Organic produce is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

You can get soft organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothes means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, fewer cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find retailers completely committed to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I do not think that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
