Organic Baby Clothing ROLLING MEADOWS
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 25-03-2010
Back before I had my children, I never really imagined I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mother, being able to talk to other mothers about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to talk about the latest baby fashions we have purchased.
I more often than not meet with 4 other parents, once a month, to catch up on the latest gossip. We generally meet at Jakes Pizza INTL (which is in ROLLING MEADOWS, IL) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was particularly eye opening as we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic produce from day one but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in America and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farmers. The run off from these farms has destroyed ecosystems and in particular water supplies. Organic produce is produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.
You can purchase beautiful organic baby apparel online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Getting organic produce means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, fewer diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Many producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find shops solely devoted to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from infants to teenagers. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I am not saying that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever it is available.
