Organic Baby Clothing RENO

Back before I had my first child, I had not thought I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a new mother, talking to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the latest baby fashions we have picked up.

I more often than not meet with 3 other parents, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest gossip. We often meet at Pizza Express (which is in RENO, NV) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was really eye opening because we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic produce from day one but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the US and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged ecosystems and in particular water bodies. Organic produce is grown without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Purchasing organic clothing means you are buying produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, fewer health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find retailers solely devoted to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to adolescents. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I would not go as far to say that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
