Organic Baby Clothing RAMSEY

Long before I had my baby, I never imagined I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a new mother, talking to other women about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to talk about the newest baby fashions we have purchased.

I generally meet with 3 other parents, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest happenings. We usually meet at Jade Village (which is in RAMSEY, NJ) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was particularly interesting as we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby girl organic food from the beginning but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the world and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has damaged ecosystems and particularly water supplies. Organic produce is grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.

You can buy beautiful organic baby apparel online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic clothes means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, reduced diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find retailers completely committed to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to teenagers. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
