Organic Baby Clothing RACINE

Before I had my first child, I never thought I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am a mum, talking to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to discuss the latest baby clothes we have picked up.

I usually meet with 3 other women, once a week, to hear about the latest gossip. We generally meet at Los Mariachis Mexican Restaurant Inc (which is in RACINE, WI) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was more eye opening because we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been giving my baby organic produce from the beginning but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular plants in the US and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has damaged habitats and particularly water supplies. Organic products are grown without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Getting organic produce means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, less health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find designers solely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to teenagers. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever it is available.
