Organic Baby Clothing POWHATAN

Back before I had my first child, I never really thought I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mother, talking to other parents about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to discuss the most recent baby fashions we have purchased.

I usually meet with 4 other women, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest gossip. We often meet at County Seat Restaurant (which is in POWHATAN, VA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last time was really interesting seeing we talked about baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic produce from the beginning but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the world and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has destroyed habitats and in particular water bodies. Organic cotton is produced without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

You can get soft organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic clothing means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, less health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find shops solely devoted to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to adolescents. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I am not saying that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
