Organic Baby Clothing PORTLAND

Before I had my children, I had not imagined I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mum, being able to talk to other parents about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to discuss the latest baby outfits we have picked up.
I more often than not get together with 4 other mothers, once a week, to find out the latest happenings. We usually meet at Hoang Yen Restaurant (which is in PORTLAND, OR) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was really exciting seeing we chatted about baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic food from the beginning but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the world and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined habitats and in particular water bodies. Organic products are produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.
You can get soft organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Clothing
Purchasing organic products means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or less use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, reduced cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Many wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find wholesalers entirely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to adolescents. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I do not think that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am most definitely going try to whenever I can.
