Organic Baby Clothing PORT RICHEY

Before I had my first child, I never really thought I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a new mother, being able to talk to other mothers about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to talk about the latest baby fashions we have bought.

I generally meet with 3 other parents, once a week, to hear about the latest happenings. We often meet at Valantis Pizza Restaurant (which is in PORT RICHEY, FL) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was more eye opening seeing we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic meals from day one but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in America and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged the environment and particularly water bodies. Organic products are produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are getting products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, less health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

A number of wholesalers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find stores solely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to older children. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
