Organic Baby Clothing PORT CLINTON
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 25-08-2010
Before I had my first child, I never really believed I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to discuss the newest baby outfits we have bought.
I more often than not meet with 3 other mothers, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest new. We usually meet at Underwood's Fine Foods (which is in PORT CLINTON, OH) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was more interesting as we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic produce from day one but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed the environment and particularly water ways. Organic produce is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.
You can buy organic baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Getting organic products means you are buying products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or reduced use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.
A number of makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find shops completely committed to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to older children. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I would not go as far to say that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever it is available.
