Organic Baby Clothing PITTSBURGH

Long before I had my children, I never really imagined I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the latest baby outfits we have purchased.

I usually meet with 2 other women, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest gossip. We usually meet at Mcdonald's Hamburgers - Brentwood (which is in PITTSBURGH, PA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last time was particularly eye opening because we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby girl organic produce from day one but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the US and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged the environment and in particular water bodies. Organic products are produced without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic produce means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, fewer health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

A number of retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find stores solely committed to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to older children. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I do not think that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
