Organic Baby Clothing PINELLAS PARK
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 24-04-2008
Long before I had my baby, I never really believed I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mum, being able to talk to other parents about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to chat about the latest baby clothes we have purchased.
I more often than not meet with 3 other parents, once a week, to hear about the latest new. We generally meet at Puthai Thai Restaurant (which is in PINELLAS PARK, FL) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was really eye opening seeing we talked about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic food from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular products in America and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and especially water supplies. Organic products are made without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.
Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Purchasing organic produce means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, less health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Several retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find wholesalers entirely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to adolescents. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I am not saying that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
