Organic Baby Clothing PHILADELPHIA
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 26-10-2009
Long before I had my baby, I never really believed I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mum, being able to talk to other women about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to chat about the latest baby clothes we have bought.
I generally go out with 2 other parents, once a week, to find out the latest new. We often meet at Delmonicos Steakhouse (which is in PHILADELPHIA, PA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last time was more interesting because we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic food from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the world and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed habitats and in particular water supplies. Organic products are grown without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.
You can buy organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Buying organic produce means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or less use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, less diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.
Quite a few makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find stores entirely devoted to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I do not think that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
