Organic Baby Clothing PERU

Before I had my first child, I had not believed I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a new mother, being able to talk to other mothers about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to talk about the newest baby outfits we have picked up.
I generally meet with 4 other mothers, once a month, to find out the latest gossip. We usually meet at Lou's LA Grotto (which is in PERU, IL) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was really exciting because we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been giving my baby girl organic meals from day one but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in America and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged ecosystems and particularly water supplies. Organic produce is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.
Benefits of Organic Clothing
Purchasing organic products means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or less use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, reduced diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.
A number of makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find shops completely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to adolescents. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I do not think that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am most definitely going try to whenever I can.
