Organic Baby Clothing NEWBERRY

Back before I had my first child, I had not thought I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a new mother, talking to other mothers about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to discuss the newest baby clothes we have bought.

I usually go out with 2 other mothers, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest new. We usually meet at Pizza Place (which is in NEWBERRY, MI) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was particularly interesting as we discussed baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic produce from day one but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the world and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has destroyed habitats and especially water supplies. Organic products are made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic products means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or less use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, fewer cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find shops solely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to adolescents. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
