Organic Baby Clothing NEW YORK
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 12-07-2009
Long before I had my first child, I never thought I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mother, chatting to other parents about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to talk about the newest baby outfits we have purchased.
I generally meet with 2 other parents, once a week, to hear about the latest new. We generally meet at Adrienne (which is in NEW YORK, NY) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was more interesting as we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic meals from day one but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular products in the US and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has damaged the environment and especially water ways. Organic cotton is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.
You can get soft organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing
Purchasing organic clothes means you are buying products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Several wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find stores completely devoted to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I would not go as far to say that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
