Organic Baby Clothing NEW YORK

Before I had my first child, I never believed I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a mother, chatting to other parents about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the latest baby outfits we have picked up.

I more often than not get together with 2 other mothers, once a month, to catch up on the latest gossip. We often meet at COSI Sandwich Bar Inc (which is in NEW YORK, NY) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was particularly exciting because we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic produce from day one but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in America and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has destroyed ecosystems and in particular water ways. Organic cotton is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

You can buy organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Purchasing organic produce means you are getting produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, fewer cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several retailers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find companies solely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to older children. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
