Organic Baby Clothing NEW PROVIDENCE

Before I had my children, I never thought I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mother, chatting to other mothers about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to discuss the most recent baby fashions we have bought.

I generally get together with 4 other mothers, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest gossip. We usually meet at Zitas Homemade Ice Cream & Italian Ice (which is in NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was particularly exciting because we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been providing my baby girl organic meals from the start but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the world and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has damaged habitats and particularly water bodies. Organic cotton is grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic clothing means you are getting produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and lakes, less cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

A number of makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find shops solely devoted to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to older children. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I am not saying that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am without a doubt going try to whenever I can.
