Organic Baby Clothing NEW HAVEN
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 31-12-2009
Back before I had my first child, I never really believed I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am a mum, chatting to other women about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to chat about the newest baby clothes we have bought.
I generally get together with 3 other women, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest happenings. We often meet at Zosias Family Deli (which is in NEW HAVEN, CT) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was particularly exciting seeing we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic produce from the start but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in America and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has ruined the environment and particularly water bodies. Organic cotton is produced without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.
You can purchase organic baby clothes online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Purchasing organic clothes means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.
Several makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find wholesalers completely devoted to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to adolescents. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I am not saying that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am without a doubt going try to whenever it is available.
