Organic Baby Clothing NASHVILLE

Back before I had my first child, I never imagined I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am a mum, talking to other parents about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the most recent baby outfits we have bought.

I generally meet with 4 other mothers, once a week, to hear about the latest happenings. We often meet at Papa John's Pizza - West Nashville (which is in NASHVILLE, TN) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was really interesting because we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby organic produce from the beginning but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed ecosystems and particularly water ways. Organic products are grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Buying organic clothing means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, less diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find companies completely committed to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to older children. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever it is available.
