Organic Baby Clothing MINNEAPOLIS

Back before I had my first child, I never really believed I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mum, being able to talk to other parents about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to chat about the latest baby outfits we have bought.

I generally get together with 2 other mothers, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest new. We generally meet at Red Sea (which is in MINNEAPOLIS, MN) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was particularly eye opening seeing we chatted about baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic meals from the start but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular products in the US and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has ruined the environment and especially water supplies. Organic cotton is produced without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

You can get organic baby clothes online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic clothing means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or less use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, fewer diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find shops solely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
