Organic Baby Clothing MILWAUKEE

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 21-06-2008

Long before I had my children, I never really believed I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the newest baby outfits we have bought.

I usually go out with 4 other mothers, once a week, to find out the latest happenings. We often meet at BLU (which is in MILWAUKEE, WI) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was really eye opening because we discussed baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic produce from day one but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the US and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged ecosystems and in particular water ways. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can purchase organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic clothing means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, less cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find shops solely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to older children. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I do not think that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
