Organic Baby Clothing MASSAPEQUA

Back before I had my first child, I never really thought I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a mum, being able to talk to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to talk about the latest baby clothes we have picked up.

I usually go out with 2 other mothers, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest gossip. We generally meet at Gigis Pizza (which is in MASSAPEQUA, NY) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was really eye opening because we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic produce from day one but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in America and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged the environment and in particular water supplies. Organic produce is produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Purchasing organic products means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or less use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and lakes, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find wholesalers solely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to teenagers. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
