Organic Baby Clothing MARISSA

Long before I had my children, I never imagined I would join a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mum, being able to talk to other parents about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the newest baby outfits we have purchased.

I usually go out with 3 other parents, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest happenings. We usually meet at White Lantern Restaurant (which is in MARISSA, IL) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was really eye opening as we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been giving my baby organic food from day one but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined habitats and particularly water ways. Organic cotton is made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

You can buy organic cotton baby apparel online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic clothes means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, less health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by lessening their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Many producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find retailers entirely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
