Organic Baby Clothing MARBLEHEAD

Long before I had my children, I never imagined I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mum, being able to talk to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to talk about the newest baby outfits we have purchased.

I more often than not get together with 4 other parents, once a week, to catch up on the latest happenings. We generally meet at Coffey Ice Cream (which is in MARBLEHEAD, MA) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was particularly interesting seeing we talked about organic baby clothing. I have been giving my baby boy organic food from the beginning but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the US and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed habitats and in particular water bodies. Organic products are grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.

You can buy organic baby apparel online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some of the cutest organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Getting organic clothes means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, less diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

A number of producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find companies solely committed to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to older children. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
