Organic Baby Clothing MANTUA

Long before I had my baby, I never really believed I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mum, talking to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to chat about the newest baby outfits we have picked up.
I more often than not go out with 4 other women, once a week, to hear about the latest gossip. We usually meet at Telford Inn (which is in MANTUA, NJ) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was more eye opening seeing we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby girl organic meals from the beginning but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in America and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed ecosystems and in particular water bodies. Organic products are made without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.
Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Getting organic products means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or reduced use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Several retailers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find companies completely committed to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to older children. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I am not saying that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
