Organic Baby Clothing MACON

Before I had my children, I had not thought I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a new mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the latest baby outfits we have picked up.

I usually meet with 4 other women, once a week, to hear about the latest new. We usually meet at Pearl's Sports Bar & Lounge (which is in MACON, GA) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was really exciting because we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby boy organic meals from the start but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in America and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farmers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and especially water bodies. Organic cotton is produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic clothing means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or less use of insecticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, fewer diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find companies solely devoted to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to teenagers. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
