Organic Baby Clothing LITTLETON

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 06-07-2008

Back before I had my first child, I never imagined I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a mum, talking to other parents about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to talk about the most recent baby clothes we have purchased.

I generally meet with 4 other mothers, once a month, to hear about the latest happenings. We usually meet at Cafe Rio (which is in LITTLETON, CO) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was particularly eye opening seeing we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby girl organic food from the beginning but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the US and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has destroyed the environment and particularly water bodies. Organic products are produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

You can get organic baby apparel online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Purchasing organic products means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or less use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, fewer cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find wholesalers completely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to older children. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I do not think that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
