Organic Baby Clothing LINCOLN

Back before I had my first child, I never really believed I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mum, chatting to other parents about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to chat about the latest baby outfits we have picked up.

I generally go out with 3 other mothers, once a fortnight, to find out the latest gossip. We usually meet at Mr Goodcents Subs & Pastas - Phone Orders (which is in LINCOLN, NE) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last time was particularly eye opening because we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been giving my baby boy organic food from day one but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in America and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged habitats and in particular water ways. Organic products are grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic products means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and rivers, less cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by lessening their contact with toxic chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find stores entirely committed to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to older children. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
