Organic Baby Clothing LENOX

Back before I had my children, I had not imagined I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mum, talking to other women about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to discuss the most recent baby outfits we have picked up.

I usually get together with 2 other mothers, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest happenings. We often meet at Lenox 218 Bar & Restaurant (which is in LENOX, MA) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was more interesting as we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby girl organic food from the start but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular products in the US and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has ruined habitats and particularly water supplies. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can purchase organic cotton baby apparel online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Getting organic products means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

A number of retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find stores solely devoted to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
