Organic Baby Clothing LANCASTER

Long before I had my baby, I never imagined I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a mother, chatting to other women about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to talk about the newest baby outfits we have picked up.
I more often than not get together with 4 other mothers, once a fortnight, to find out the latest happenings. We often meet at No Anchovies Pizzeria & Bakery (which is in LANCASTER, NY) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was more eye opening seeing we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby girl organic produce from day one but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the world and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has ruined ecosystems and in particular water supplies. Organic cotton is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.
Benefits of Organic Clothing
Purchasing organic clothes means you are getting produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, less diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Several retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find shops solely committed to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from infants to older children. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I would not go as far to say that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am most definitely going try to whenever I can.
