Organic Baby Clothing KIRKLAND

Before I had my children, I never really imagined I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a new mother, talking to other parents about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to discuss the newest baby outfits we have bought.

I usually get together with 2 other mothers, once a month, to find out the latest gossip. We usually meet at World Wrapps (which is in KIRKLAND, WA) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was particularly exciting as we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic food from the beginning but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in America and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed the environment and particularly water supplies. Organic cotton is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can get soft organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some of the cutest organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, reduced cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

A number of producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find designers solely committed to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to older children. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
