Organic Baby Clothing JEFFERSON

Long before I had my children, I never imagined I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a mum, chatting to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the most recent baby outfits we have purchased.

I more often than not go out with 3 other women, once a month, to catch up on the latest new. We often meet at Water Wheel Breakfast & Gift House (which is in JEFFERSON, NH) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was particularly interesting as we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic food from the beginning but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed habitats and particularly water bodies. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

You can buy organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Purchasing organic produce means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by lessening their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find designers entirely committed to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to older children. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
