Organic Baby Clothing HUGO

Long before I had my first child, I had not thought I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a mum, chatting to other mothers about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to talk about the newest baby clothes we have picked up.

I usually meet with 3 other parents, once a week, to catch up on the latest happenings. We often meet at Kwik CHEK Food Stores (which is in HUGO, OK) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was particularly exciting as we talked about baby clothes. I have been providing my baby girl organic food from the start but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in America and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed habitats and particularly water supplies. Organic products are produced without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Getting organic produce means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, less health problems for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

A number of makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find wholesalers completely committed to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to older children. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I would not go as far to say that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
