Organic Baby Clothing HOUSTON

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 18-03-2009

Before I had my baby, I never thought I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a new mother, talking to other mothers about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to talk about the most recent baby outfits we have bought.

I generally meet with 2 other parents, once a fortnight, to find out the latest gossip. We usually meet at Crowne Plaza Hotel Houston - Brookhollow (which is in HOUSTON, TX) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was really exciting seeing we talked about organic baby clothing. I have been providing my baby organic produce from day one but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the world and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged ecosystems and in particular water bodies. Organic cotton is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.

You can buy organic cotton baby apparel online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic clothes means you are getting produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, fewer health problems for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

A number of producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find companies completely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to adolescents. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
