Organic Baby Clothing HICKORY

Back before I had my first child, I never really thought I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a mum, chatting to other mothers about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the most recent baby fashions we have purchased.

I generally get together with 4 other mothers, once a month, to catch up on the latest new. We generally meet at Libby Hill Seafood (which is in HICKORY, NC) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was more exciting because we talked about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby girl organic food from day one but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged the environment and in particular water bodies. Organic products are made without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can buy organic baby clothes online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothing means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, less cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find designers entirely committed to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to older children. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
