Organic Baby Clothing HARTFORD

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 15-05-2009

Back before I had my baby, I never really imagined I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a new mother, chatting to other parents about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to talk about the newest baby outfits we have picked up.

I more often than not go out with 3 other parents, once a fortnight, to find out the latest new. We often meet at Mom's Kitchen (which is in HARTFORD, AL) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was more interesting because we discussed baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic produce from the start but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular products in the world and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed habitats and in particular water supplies. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

You can buy soft organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothing means you are buying products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, fewer cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by lessening their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find stores completely devoted to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from infants to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
