Before I had my children, I had not believed I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mum, chatting to other women about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to talk about the latest baby fashions we have purchased.
I usually go out with 4 other mothers, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest gossip. We generally meet at North China Chinese Restaurant (which is in GATLINBURG, TN) as that is quite central for all of us. I have been feeding my baby boy organic produce from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in America and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farmers. The run off from these farms has damaged the environment and particularly water ways. Organic produce is made without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Purchasing organic products means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, reduced cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Several wholesalers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find retailers completely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to teenagers. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
