Before I had my first child, I had not thought I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a new mother, being able to talk to other mothers about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. Getting organic produce means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, reduced cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.

A number of wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find companies completely devoted to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to teenagers. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
