Organic Baby Clothing FEDERAL WAY

Back before I had my baby, I had not believed I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a new mother, being able to talk to other women about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to chat about the latest baby clothes we have purchased.
I usually go out with 4 other mothers, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest new. We generally meet at Azteca Mexican Restaurants (which is in FEDERAL WAY, WA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was more eye opening seeing we talked about organic baby clothing. I have been providing my baby girl organic food from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the US and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed the environment and particularly water supplies. Organic cotton is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.
Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Purchasing organic products means you are buying products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, less cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.
Several makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find stores solely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to older children. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I do not think that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am most definitely going try to whenever I can.
